Notes

Note

Name: also Jean Blié, found as signature on a document in 1744, in St-Denis, Kamouraska.

Most sources list Jean as being born in 1728; a note about his funeral said: "Agé d'environ de 64 ans, en présence de Jean Martin, Jean dubé et de beaucoup d'autres".

Another indication that he was born before 1728 is the fact that he already was present in Kamouraska in 1744. The best evidence, however, seems to be that his mother died in 1724. Conclusive was a phone call with Richard Blier of Normandy, France, who gave 1720 as the year of his birth.

Jean was present at a funeral on 10 Dec 1748 in Rivière-Ouelle.

In the 1762 census, he is listed as having 4 sons and 2 daughters.
